The Hotel Union Square has an updated new look. Original design elements and art surround guests as they enter the lobby. Original canvas drawings by well-known designer Gladys Perint Palmer complement other original artwork that celebrates a nostalgic view of San Francisco that has long since passed with time.
The classic boutique-style hotel has a superb location near Union Square and the city’s main shopping district. The Hotel Union Square features modern European furnishings, colorful textiles, jewel toned fabrics and a host of period art. Famous designers such as Charles Rennie Macintosh and Charles Rennie Macintosh have contributed their talents in the recent renovation of the property.
Guests will find the hotel’s 131 guestrooms stylish and comfortable. Each room has been recently renovated and features bright interior fabrics with jewel tones and bold colors including vivid green, claret and eggplant. Walls feature original artwork celebrating classic scenes of San Francisco. Each room has a full private bath with personalized toiletries.
The hotel features a recently completed suite dedicated to frequent guest Dashiell Hammett, the celebrated author of ‘The Maltese Falcon.’ Hammett enjoyed the hotel so much that he booked a suite there for his 1921 wedding to Josephine Dolan.
