Renowned for creating the interiors of many top urban restaurants, hotels and nightclubs, award-winning LA-based firm Thomas Schoos Design, Inc. has evoked the deliciously dizzying and mysterious aura of Hitchcock’s masterpiece through its clever use of color and pattern. With its original 1920s Corinthian-capitaled columns, 25-foot high ceilings, tall windows and salon-style seating, one could almost imagine Jimmy Stewart or Kim Novak striding through the marble-floored lobby.
Striking wing chairs in vibrant orange, glossy leather with the word "Vertigo" stitched on the seats make these guest rooms visually unique. Beds feature white and orange 300- thread count Italian linens accentuated by tufted-leather headboards. Bathrooms feature white crocodile-patterned tile, walnut vanities, designer sinks and oversized rain shower heads. All guest rooms include 36" flat screen televisions with satellite service and iPod docking stations.
In early 2009, Hotel Vertigo will welcome celebrity chef Tyler Florence when he opens his first-ever restaurant, Bar Florence. Foodies may recognize Chef Florence as the star of three Food Network shows and author of several best-selling culinary books.
