Located at San Francisco's popular Fisherman's Wharf, this historic, luxury, waterfront hotel was named after Forty-Niners who came to California seeking their fortunes.
The Argonaut’s lobby features a front desk resembling a steamer trunk set under a 16-foot ceiling. Distinctive nautical details include an astronomer’s mantle clock, a wooden plank floor reminiscent of a ship’s deck and cruise-ship-style chaise lounges.
The 252 guest rooms and suites offer breathtaking waterfront views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island. The rooms’ bright gold and admiral blue color scheme enhances the nautical décor, which includes whitewashed furniture and captain's-style desk chairs. The brick walls, large timbers, and steel, warehouse doors in the guest rooms are part of the original four-story building built in 1907.
After a day by the Bay, mariners may satisfy their hunger at the adjacent Blue Mermaid Chowder House and Bar with its fresh seafood and homemade chowder.
