Like its contemporaries in New York and elsewhere, the 31-story hotel is cool and edgy. The gray granite and black stone façade complements the lobby’s octagonal three-story glass entrance. Velvet ottomans, leather armchairs and mesh curtains create a sexy, minimalist ambience fusing art and technology. The lobby flows into The W Living Room, where specially designed game tables and a plethora of board games invite guests to linger.
The 423 guest rooms embody this hip, urban style. Furnishings include oversized dark wood desks, mirrors, chaise lounges and wood shutters that open to great views of the city. Pillow-top mattresses, goose down duvets and pillows and chenille throws dress the luxury beds. Baths are handsomely appointed and stocked with Aveda products.
W-San Francisco’s restaurant, XYZ, serves modern American cuisine with seasonal California influences as well as cocktails and select vintages. The W Café serves cappuccino and light bites during the day, then transforms into a trendy bar each night. Guests will find the Sony Metreon Entertainment Center just steps away.
